GIVE FANS MORE THAN A SEAT
Fans pour money into tickets, apparel, parking, and concessions, yet too many teams across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS still treat memorable fan experiences and player access like optional extras instead of part of the deal.
Fans are not asking for miracles. We are asking teams to stop charging premium prices for a stripped-down experience and start delivering more access, more interaction, and more reasons to feel connected to the people and places we support. That is why WTF is pushing the Experiences app: to make fan-first moments easier to find, easier to access, and harder for teams to ignore.
Have your say ↓Give fans more than a receipt
Fans are paying top dollar and getting the bare minimum back.
Across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS, supporters keep showing up. We buy the tickets. We buy the jerseys. We pay for parking, food, drinks, and every extra fee stacked onto a night out. We build the atmosphere on television and in the building. Then too often the experience ends up feeling transactional, distant, and forgettable.
That is the irritant this week. Teams ask for loyalty at premium prices, but many still do not do enough to make fans feel meaningfully included. A seat in the stadium is not the same thing as a real experience. If families are spending serious money to be there, the return should be more than a view of the field or court and a long line at checkout.
Fans want access. Fans want moments. Fans want the kind of connection that turns a one-time visit into a lifelong bond.
That means more player appearances, more postgame and pregame fan events, more open practices, more meet-and-greets, more behind-the-scenes opportunities, and more creative in-venue experiences that reward the people who keep coming back. It means the stadium should feel alive for the fans, not just optimized for sponsors and premium inventory.
If teams want to talk about community, they need to act like it. Make players more accessible. Create more special experiences for the people in the stands. Stop treating fan joy like a bonus feature that only appears once or twice a season. The people carrying the culture of sports deserve more than a scan code and a souvenir cup.
The Fans Demand
-
More real fan experiences built into the season
Not just one giveaway night and a photo backdrop. We want regular, visible opportunities for fans to connect with the team, the venue, and the players in ways that feel personal and memorable. -
More access to players and team spaces
That can mean Q and A sessions, autograph opportunities, open training sessions, pregame fan zones, or behind-the-scenes moments. If fans are investing more, the wall between team and supporter should not keep getting higher. -
A better way to discover and unlock these moments
That is where the WTF Experiences app comes in. Fans need one place to find, share, and push for the kinds of experiences that actually make supporting a team feel worth it.
This is not asking for special treatment. It is asking for fair value.
WTF believes fandom should feel bigger than a transaction. The Experiences app is about helping fans find the moments that matter and making it easier to demand more of them. If teams can build premium clubs, endless add-ons, and new ways to charge supporters, they can also build better fan access and better memories.
Join the Fight
WTF Experiences is in development. For now, tell us which fan experiences you want to see. Tell your local clubs and league accounts the truth: if you want our money, effort, and loyalty, give us more than a seat.
Fans show up every time. It is time for teams to meet us there.
